An Island Voices Speaker Series Event

Noted author Denége Patterson will share her extensive knowledge of the islands of Pine Island Sound.  She will bring to life her book, A Tour of the Islands of Pine Island Sound: Their Geology, Archaeology, and History.

The program focuses on Captiva Island and Buck Key, and is Patterson book copy.jpgexplained with spectacular aerial photographs taken by professional photographer Ron Mayhew from the open door of a helicopter.

Denége is a seventeen-year veteran tour guide, archaeological fieldworker, laboratory assistant, educator, and writer at the Randell Research Center at Pineland, FL.  She has a master’s degree from Syracuse University and is a Florida Master Naturalist.

A book signing will take place after the presentation, to benefit the Randell Research Center.
