Island Store Dedication
From boarding house to beauty parlor, school dormitory to general store, restaurant to hurricane shelter, architect’s office and polling precinct to even a rumored brothel. Join us as we commemorate this treasured island landmark.
For 105 years since first appearing on the Lee County tax records, the structure now known as The Island Store has played many roles in our island’s history. The CIHS Board of Directors invite admirers of this historic landmark to join us for our historic plaque unveiling, a bit of story-telling, and a lot of old-fashioned island camaraderie.
