  • Early Tarpon Fishing on Captiva

    This image features "Buzz" (F. Bowman) Price, his daughter, Dorothy Price (Dotty Wakefield) and Captain Stran after catching a huge tarpon in the early 1900's.  Price and his wife, Grace, established 'Tween Waters Inn in 1931.  Captain Stran was a resident fishing guide on the island. His wife, Clara Stran, owned a gift shop on Captiva.

  • Maybelle Stamper

    This image is Maybelle Stamper with two cats owned by her friends, the Weeks family. Stamper, a modern artist and lithographer lived and worked on Captiva Island for more than 50 years.

  • June Rosse

    This photo is June Rosse, daughter of Andy and Dessa Rosse. The photo is part of the Rosse family collection, gifted to the Captiva island Historical Society.

  • The Dixie Steamer

    This image features The Dixie Steamer, a ship that frequently visited Captiva with mail, frieght and passengers, docking at Randall's Dock.
