Jewel Jensen Joins CIHS Board

The Captiva Island Historical Society is pleased to welcome Jewel Jensen to its Board of Directors.

Jewel has affinity for history. She is a member of the Sanibel Historical Preservation jewel.jpegCommittee, and volunteers as a docent at the Sanibel Historical Museum and Village. As a retired educator, she delights in doing research, then sharing her knowledge of history.

Jewel has already jumped in with her positive energy, organizational ability to support CIHS activities.  She looks forward to working with the CIHS Board “to preserve the rich history of Captiva Island.”

Jewel has volunteered as a Shell Ambassador at the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum. For the Sanibel Captiva Conservation Foundation she works as a Sea Turtle Monitor. Jewel’s family has visited Captiva and Sanibel for 25 years, from their northern home in Lake Forest, Ill. She and her husband Kevin enjoy living now in their year round home on the Islands
