CIHS Launches Historic Landmarks Walking Tour

On same Saturday morning, January 25, 2020 the Captiva Island Historical Society held the ceremonial ribbon-cutting of its recently refurbished History Gallery, its self-guided Walking Tour of Captiva Island Historic Landmarks was also introduced.

IMG_3074 2.jpegFollowing the reveal of the History Gallery makeover, guests congregated in the Captiva Civic Center for the introduction of the self-guided walking tour of historic landmarks. A video continually played on the big screen with descriptions and photos for each of the 12 locations.

Brochures with a map and descriptions were presented, as guests enjoyed coffee and pastry. Board members conducted mini-tours, which included visiting ‘Tween Waters Inn for a tour of “Ding” Darling’s iconic cottage.

Coffee was compliments of Starbucks of Captiva.
