Jenny Clark-King Joins CIHS as Board Assistant

Jenny’s life has intertwined with Captiva from her honeymoon at Clark-King.jpgSouth Seas Plantation in 1980 and subsequently moving to SW Florida soon after.

Since falling in love with Florida, Jenny has spent countless hours volunteering in the area. Her hours have contributed to the American Cancer Society as their Special Events Chairperson (Bradenton); the Cardinal Mooney High School (Sarasota) as their Telethon Chairperson; a Docent at Burroughs Home & Gardens (Ft. Myers): 13 years on the Lee County Women’s Tennis League Executive Board, ten of which she was the Executive Secretary; and presently at the Lee County Women’s Tennis League as their Rules Coordinator.

In her 40 years plus of living in Southwest Florida, Jenny had the pleasure of meeting some of Captiva’s and Southwest Florida’s historic residents while they were alive: Jim and Ellie Newton (Uncommon Friends), Robert Rauschenberg (artist) and Anne Morrow Lindberg.

The CIHS Board is pleased that Jenny has brought her experience, enthusiasm and island connection to the Captiva Island Historical Society. The Board would also like to thank Melissa Laskos for her dedication, professionalism and support over the past two years.
