Tony Lapi Honored as Guardian of History

The Captiva Island Historical Society (CIHS) proudly presented its third Betty Anholt Guardian of History Award to board member and longtime CEO of the historic ’Tween Waters Inn, Tony Lapi, during a special reception held March 16, 2026, at the Sanibel Community House.

More than 120 guests gathered to celebrate Tony Lapi’s enduring commitment to preserving and promoting the unique heritage of Captiva Island. As a steward of one of the island’s most iconic IMG_2141.jpeghistoric properties, Tony has played a vital role in safeguarding its legacy while ensuring it remains a vibrant part of the community.
