On Monday, January 13th, the CIHS celebrated the many contributions and published works of the island’s remarkable historian, Betty Anholt. Nearly 100 guests gathered at the Captiva Island Yacht Club to celebrate the first Guardian of History Award, named the Betty Anholt Guardian of History Award, in honor of its first recipient. -

"What Do You Know?"
Tuesday evening, February 20 the CIHS presented the inaugural Captiva History Game Show, "What Do You Know?" serving up questions about early island characters, landmarks and folklore, in a Jeopardy-style quiz show format.
